The City of Hoorn and the Westfries Museum consider it important to handle your data with care. In this privacy statement we explain how we do this.
What personal data do we use?
The data we need may vary per service or product. We only use data that are really necessary, for example:

- address
- phone number
- email address
When do we use your data?
We only use your data if it is necessary, for example to purchase an admission ticket or if you contact us with a question. We may also ask your permission to use your data. For example, for a newsletter. You can always withdraw your permission.
How do we handle your data?
We store your data in secure systems. Only employees who need your data to do their job, can access these systems. Our employees must keep your data confidential. We will not keep your data longer than necessary. In this regard, we adhere to the statutory retention periods.
Do we share your data with third parties?
We may share your data with other organisations. We do this if:
- organisations carry out an assignment for us.
- we work together with organisations, for example at events.
- we are obliged to do so, for example in the case of a criminal investigation.
We enter into an agreement with these organisations about the use and security of your data.

Do you want to know which data we have on you? Or would you like to change or delete your data, if incorrect? You can submit a request to see your data. You can do so by sending a request to info@wfm.nl.

The City of Hoorn has a ‘data protection officer’. If you have any questions or complaints about how the Westfries Museum is handling your data, you can contact this officer via the contact form or by calling +31 (0)229 25 22 00.
The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens is the national supervisory authority. You can also contact them if you have a complaint about the way the Westfries Museum is handling your data.
Legal obligations
When using your data, all employees of the City of Hoorn (including the Westfries Museum) comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (Wbp).
